Forge Shield
Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and Arc. Not Safari, that needs a different build we haven't made yet.
Shield is waiting on Chrome Web Store review. That's out of our hands, and we're not going to leave you holding a subscription you can't use while we wait. This installs the identical extension directly.
A small, .zipabout 48 KB.
Documents or your home folder is fine. Don't leave it in Downloads and don't delete the folder afterwards, the browser loads Shield from that folder every time it starts, so if the folder disappears, so does your blocker.

Top-right toggle in Chrome, left sidebar in Edge. This is the switch that lets a browser run an extension that didn't come from its store.
Choose the folder you unzipped, the one containing
manifest.json. Shield appears in your toolbar.
Open your account page, generate a pairing code, and paste it into Shield's setup screen. That's what links the blocker to your subscription and to the person who gets your reports.
Get my pairing codeYour browser will warn you about developer mode. Chrome shows a "Disable developer mode extensions" prompt on some startups. That warning is Chrome doing its job. It can't vouch for anything it didn't review. Dismiss it. Shield keeps running. If you'd rather not run in developer mode at all, wait for the store listing and email [email protected], we'll pause your billing until it's live rather than charge you for something you're not using.
Incognito windows. Chrome won't let an extension grant
itself permission to run in incognito, and we can't do it for you. If
you want Shield active there, find Shield on
chrome://extensions, click Details, and switch on "Allow
in Incognito". If you don't, incognito is an unblocked window, worth
knowing before you rely on it.
Stuck? Email [email protected] and describe where it went wrong, a real person reads it.
