This is not the Forge iPhone app. Forge Desktop is a separate product with its own subscription. It runs on your computer, it works on its own, and you don't need the app to use it.

If you already pay for Forge Pro on iPhone: that's billed by Apple and is unaffected by anything on this page. Pro does not include these, and buying these does not change your Pro subscription. They're two different things from the same people.

Want blocking on your iPhone? That's in the app. Forge Pro now includes Forge Shield for iPhone, which blocks adult sites in every iPhone browser. This page is only about your computer.

Forge Desktop, separate from the iPhone app

Block porn and gambling sites
on your computer.

And if you turn the blocker off, someone you chose gets an email saying so. That's the part that makes it work.

  1. 1 You pick one person you trust. They're emailed the day you add them.
  2. 2 The sites get blocked. Once a week, that person gets a short list of what was blocked.
  3. 3 If you delete it, they're told that too. That's why it holds when a normal blocker doesn't.

From $7/month. Cancel any time, in two clicks, from your account page.

In plain terms

1, Forge Shield · $7/month

An add-on for your web browser that blocks adult and gambling websites.

Then the part that makes it work: you name one person you trust, and once a week they get an email listing the sites that were blocked. They're also told if you remove it. You choose who that person is, and they're emailed the day you add them, so they always know.

2, Check-in calls · not on sale yet

An automated phone call at times you pick, asking how you're doing.

You answer with your keypad, not your voice. Nothing is recorded. The phone system isn't switched on, so we aren't selling it. Leave your email in the pricing section below and you'll hear from us the day it starts working.

Shield is the one you can buy today, at $7/month. When calls launch they're planned at $9/month on their own, or $12/month for both.

Which browsers Shield works on

Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera or Arc on a Mac or a Windows PC. Those all share the same engine, so it's one add-on for all of them.

Safari is not supported yet. Apple requires a separate version that we haven't built. If Safari is your only browser, Shield won't help you today, please don't buy it expecting otherwise.

Not on your phone. This add-on protects the computer you install it on. For your iPhone, Forge Pro includes Forge Shield for iPhone. It's part of the app, billed by Apple, and separate from this.

Forge Shield

A blocker you can't
quietly delete.

Shield blocks adult sites and gambling in Chrome. That part is ordinary, plenty of extensions do it, and all of them can be removed in about thirty seconds.

So Shield does the other thing. You name one person. They get a short weekly summary, and they get told if Shield is removed or stops reporting in. The block is what slows you down in the moment. The report is what actually holds.

What your partner sees: site names and counts, once a week.

What they never see: what you searched for, or what was on any page. Forge doesn't collect it, so there's nothing to leak.

Check-in calls

A phone call at the
time you pick.

Not live yet. Built and tested, waiting on legal review of the consent script before any phone rings.

You choose up to three times a day. Forge calls and asks one question: how's today going. You answer with a keypress, good day, hard but holding, really struggling.

If you press the third one, the call reads out real crisis lines and flags your account. It doesn't try to counsel you, because a recorded voice has no business doing that.

If someone else picks up, they hear only that it's an automated call from Forge for you, by first name. Nothing about recovery is said until you press 1 to confirm it's you.

Press 9 any time to stop the calls for good.

One email, the day they go live. No charge, no card.

30 days, then your money back if you want it. Email [email protected] within 30 days of your first payment and we refund it in full. No reason needed, and we won't ask for one.

Cancel any time from your account page, two clicks, no email and no retention flow. Billed by us through Stripe, so we can actually do this.

Straight about where this is: Forge Shield works today. Install it, pair it, and your partner starts getting reports.

The check-in calls are built and tested but not placing calls yet. The consent script is with a lawyer, and we are not dialling anyone's phone until that is signed off. So we are not charging for them either. Leave your email and you will hear from us once, on the day they start working.

Separate from Forge Pro. Pro is the iPhone app, billed by Apple. These are billed by us, through Stripe. Two subscriptions, two products, cancel either without touching the other.

Straight answers

Can I just uninstall the blocker?

Yes, and that's the design. Your partner is told when it comes off. We'd rather be honest that the block is beatable than pretend otherwise and lose your trust the first time you beat it.

Does it work on Safari?

Not yet. Apple needs extensions built and submitted a different way, and we haven't done that work. Shield works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and Arc. If Safari is the browser you actually use, wait for us rather than buying, or install one of the others and use that one while you're getting through this.

Will this work in incognito?

Only if you switch it on yourself in chrome://extensions. Chrome doesn't let an extension grant itself that. Shield's setup page says so plainly rather than letting you find out the hard way.

Do I need the iPhone app?

No. Both work on their own with a Forge account. If you do use the app, a call you mark as struggling shows up there too.

I already pay for Forge Pro. Do I get this?

No. Pro is the iPhone app and is billed by Apple. Forge Desktop is billed separately by us. Buying one has no effect on the other, and cancelling one leaves the other running.

Is this a desktop version of the app?

No, and we'd rather say so than let you find out after paying. It's two different tools for the thing the app can't reach: a browser blocker, and a phone call. Your streak, coach and Vice Grip stay in the app.

Are the calls a real person?

No, and the call says so out loud in its first few seconds. It's a recorded automated voice, it isn't an emergency service, and it tells you how to stop it every single time.
